I’ve got a pretty capable trail rig (37” tires, front and rear lockers, 3.5” lift, winch…), but looking to baby her, as it’s my first time out with this Jeep (I’ve had several before this one, but never one this long before) and my motto for this trip is “no body damage”. This will be my first Pilgrimage, but I’ve done many personal and club runs as well as attended 3 Jeep Jamborees. As I get older, I’m more about the places these vehicles can take me, soaking in the sights along the way and the people I meet, and less about bashing my vehicles, like I’ve done when I was younger… I plan to ride with a co-worker and his 4Runner. With the condition of the trails due to the flooding, I’m thinking the blue or greens look challenging enough. Hit me up if this is your speed and you’re going to be dragging a long wheelbase vehicle through the woods like I plan to!

If you would not mind a Ford to tag along with you, this sounds like my kind of wheeling. I want to hit the rails and explore. I have a 2022 F150 Tremor. It is pretty capable in stock form. I have a Torsen front differential, 33 General Grabber tires, and a rear locker. I do not want to leave this event with any body damage, I do hope to leave the even with some mud and dirt as well as some cool adventure. If you do not mind a Ford in your group I am in.

Sounds good. I don’t discriminate and technically I’m a Ford owner too! (I have a Class A Winnebago motorhome with the Ford V-10 chassis in it). The more the merrier!

We are coming from Colorado and first time wheeling in the northeast. We live in Grand Junction (near Moab)and are very experienced off roading. We have in a 2018 JlU Rubicon built for overlanding and rock crawling in 38s. If you happen to have some space would love to join you guys for some runs. Will have our RTT on for this trip so blues work great, and I have o remember we have 3,000 miles to drive home! Wife’s bucket list is to see the leaves in VT so more about the scenery for this trip. Pox of rig included.

Nice rig! Would love for you to join us! I was just in Moab this Spring where I did some mountain biking, hiking and rented an Overlanding Jeep with a RTT to do the White Rim trail. Loved it! Would love to hear more about Moab from a local! Welcome!

Sounds great and looking forward to it. Haven’t had the chance to do White Rim so we can swap some stories on Moab and look forward to leaning more about trails in the NE. Cheers!

Hey Everyone! Now that there’s officially a “group” of us, has anyone had a chance to look at the maps yet? I just played around with the onXmaps app and it’s pretty neat, but there’s like 927 items listed for the Pilgrimage. I don’t even know where to begin picking out trails. It’s hard with the minimal descriptions we are given and how they are literally spread out over almost the entire state. I’d hate to pick a trail hours away and it be a bust… For me, I’m just looking for some nice views (maybe some waterfalls, a covered bridge, or hitting some of the ones that say “gorgeous view”…?), and heck, I want to try one of those Maple Creamies everyone’s talking about!!! Anybody pick out any trails they want to do?

We started looking at the ONX maps last night. I agree are also looking from a trail or two with something interesting: views, waterfalls, or some other point of interest. We will be in peak foliage season so the colors will be nice everywhere. I was hoping to do something within a reasonable distance of the event. Not sure yet what that distance is yet. My thought was to avoid a multi-hour drive to the trail so we could spend more time doing what we are there to do. Vermont is a tall state so it can be a long drive to get to the far north or south. I don’t know exactly how it is going to work, but I know they are going to try to make sure not too many people are hitting one trail at the same time. Apparently that was an issue with local town during last years event. It is worth doing a Zoom or Teams meeting with this group before the event. We could all look at the maps and share our screens to choose a selection. Just a thought.

I just downloaded onX and trying to get a handle on it. We are avid users of Gaia so this is a new app for us but seems pretty intuitive. After dribpving cross country not enthralled it’s driving a few hours to a trail head. So the close the better since we are there for the colors and some trail riding. Totally up for a virtual meeting to game plan a with everyone. Sounds like the close in trail get the most pressure, so my experience is you either go further out or get an earlier start to grab the close close in trails that check everyone’s boxes. Good either way and I like Joe’s thinking on sites. Open this weekend for a virtual meeting if needed and will review the files/trails before hand. Thx.
