The Pilgrimage 2023

The answer is yes, your vehicle can do it.

The Pilgrimage is built around community, cooperation and information. The routes we provide in the maps for the event are pre-run every year and color-coded by difficulty.

GREEN

Most Any Vehicle
Should haves:
  • All-season or AT Tires
  • 2WD or 4WD
  • 1 Solid Recovery Point

BLUE

Most Typical 4x4 Vehicles
Recommendations:
  • AT or MT Tires
  • 4WD or AWD
  • 1 Solid Recovery Point

RED

Modified 4x4 Vehicles
Highly Recommend:
  • Skid plates / Sill guards
  • Lifted Suspension
  • Limited-slip Diffs / Lockers

PINK / PURPLE

Properly Modified Vehicles
Requirements:
  • Winch
  • Larger Tires
  • Recovery Gear

Some maps also will include YELLOW lines which indicate a recommended route between Class 4 trails. These are typically main or secondary roads.
* Since going from trail-to-trail requires on-road travel, all vehicles are required to be street-legal and registered for the safety of all of our participants.

Vehicle preparation

It doesn’t take much to have fun at The Pilgrimage. However it is important to be prepared. Here are some general guidelines on how to prepare for your weekend in Vermont.

This isn’t a contest, it’s what you make of it. Enjoy the foliage and local charm of Vermont from Greens all weekend if you like or do a combination as you build up your confidence.
